Around the Gym

Our Level 6-10 gymnasts are at it again, this time competing in Elk Grove, CA at Gym Fest. This meet hosted 511 registered gymnasts and was held at the Byers Gymnastics Center on March 3-5th. The WVGS coaches continue to be amazed at what these girls are determined to accomplish, their progress thus far and their every day dedication to gymnastics.

The Xcel Teams were back in action this past weekend at “Girl Power” in Burlingame. Held March 4-5th, 2017 our coaches, gymnasts and parents were in for an exciting weekend.
Bronze-1st in Team, Silver-2nd in Team, Gold/Platinum-3rd in Team!

February 18th, Stockton CA. The Delta Classic featured 335 registered gymnasts and West Valley's Level 6 team! Our fantastic five ladies continue to master competitions each week by performing at their best and growing stronger each time they take the mat.  We work hard in practice and continue to strive for personal bests in everything we do.  Level 6, we know you are determined and we continue to be impressed with your determination.

The California Classic, hosted in San Diego, CA featuring 1354 gymnasts from across the state was held February 3-5th.  Coach Paul and Coach Judy accompanied our Optional gymnasts to SoCal for this annual meet.

We have several meets left in our season and we are just getting started.  We know WVGS will continue to move forward, practice harder each week and continue to take the podium in the future! Good luck ladies, keep going!

WVGS is back at it again, this time taking on the Red Heart 10.0 invitational in Fremont, CA.  This weekend, January 28-29th, our Xcel gymnasts and coaches were proud to take the podium after a great practice week.  Many of our gymnasts placed individually as well as their team placements below.  
The season is just getting started and we are fully confident that our young athletes will continue to bring home more awards each meet!

This past weekend, January 21-22nd, in Dublin CA was the 1st away meet of the season for our Xcel gymnasts.  And boy, did they excel in all parts of the invitational!  This annual meet hosted by Edge Gymnastics featured our Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond and Platinum athletes.

We are closed for classes December 24-January 1st.  We will re-open for regular classes on January 2, 2017.  Camp will be in session the week of December 26th.  Have a safe and fun break, we will see you in 2017!

It's aways an exciting weekend when it's a competition weekend.  It's even more exciting when you get to travel to another state.  From the west coast to the east coast, WVGS took on the City of Lights Invitational.  Hosted by Orlando Metro is Kissimmee, Fla, this 2-day weekend began with our Level 7 gymnasts. The following gymnasts brought back individual medals:

An exciting meet that our qualifying gymnasts always look forward to being a part of is the Brestyan's Invitational held in Las Vegas!  This was a weekend of fun, competition and personal growth.  This was also a National Elite/Hopes qualifier meet.

We are also proud to announce that Sam qualified for HOPES and Ciena qualified for JUNIOR ELITE!!!  Amazing accomplishment by these ladies, we are very proud of them. 

Xcel gymnasts just finished the Gold Country Classic in Richmond, CA.  This 29th annual meet took place February 11-12th with 431 gymnasts and we are excited to spotlight our team accomplishments.  

Bronze: 1st Place
Silver: 2nd Place
Gold: 1st Place
Platinum/Diamond: 1st Place

Our gymnasts who placed 1st in All-Around are: Mina, Nithila, Nina, Maya, and Nitya.  We would also like to congratulate Diamond gymnast Nitya, she placed 1st in every event, thats a wonderful accomplishment!

January 14-15th kicked off the 2017 Optional Competition season in San Francisco at the SF Classic hosted by Gymtowne Gymnastics.  Level 6-10's took the floor with determination and excitement for their first look at the 2017 competition with a total of 611 gymnasts.

We are beyond thrilled for our fierce trio of Level 6 gymnasts who placed 1st in Team!  Small but mighty, we are proud of you!
