Around the Gym

Sunday, January 21st in Rohnert Park was the Gymnastics in the Wine Country meet for Xcel gymnasts.  426 registered gymnasts were a part of this meet hosted by Redwood Empire Gymnastics and WVGS was there to compete!  Although not all of our Xcel teams placed, plenty individuals brought home medals.

Meet season is underway and we are happy to say our Level 6-8 gymnasts are ready to go!  The San Francisco Classic was the 1st meet this year, hosted by Gymtowne Gymnastics.  We are proud to say all 3 levels placed in the Team awards!

Our Level 3 gymnasts wrapped up their season at the State Championships on November 18-19 in Visalia.  WVGS competed 17 athletes and they were fantastic.  Whether they took the podium or not, every one competed confidently and positively!

San Mateo Gymnastics hosted the State competition for Level 5 on November 3-5, 2017.  What a season it has been for our 5's.  We have said it before, but these athletes continue to develop new skill sets each meet and their passion grows stronger with each competition.  Not only did these ladies bring home medals all season, several of them set their personal bests-what an accomplishment!
Congratulations on an awesome season.  Your coaches and families are very proud of you.  Keep working hard, set your goals and you will come back next season stronger and ready to dominate!  Thanks for a great season Level 5's!!

Twisters Gymnastics in Sunnyvale hosted their annual Emerald City Invitational on October 27-29th. WVGS had 2 sessions for Level 3 and 2 sessions for Level 4.  Every gymnast that competed did an awesome job.  Watching them grow this season has been extremely humbling, knowing these young ladies give it their best every meet.  Way to work hard gymnasts!

On the weekend of September 23-24th, WVGS headed to CGA for the Vineyard Classic.  We love competing at these annual meets; seeing familiar faces and new ones too.  Our ladies continue to progress each week and it was exciting to see our athletes faces light up as they mastered a new routine or placed in the individual awards.  Keep it up WVGS!

On September 16-17, our WVGS gymnasts went over the hill to compete at Begonia by the Beach in Santa Cruz.  This was our 2nd meet of the season and our gymnasts were strong and ready! Congratulations to all the ladies that placed individually, there were several!

Xcel Season 2018 is officially underway with their 1st meet of the season in Rancho Cordova. The Golden State Classic, held at Technique Gymnastics, hosted 566 individual gymnasts from across Northern California.  
The first meet is always an exciting time for gymnasts and coaches and we are ready to see what this season brings for our athletes.  We have several meets left and we are confident that our Xcel program will continue to "Xcel".

Congrats to both sessions of Xcel Silver and 2nd session Gold on their 3rd place accomplishment! 

Byers Gymnastics Center II in Roseville hosted Northern California Level 4 States November 10-12th. WVGS came in fearless and ready for a steady weekend of competition.  We have watched our Level 4's grow personally and professionally this season and we are impressed with their finishes.

Level 5's were back in action on October 22nd at the Circus Parade Invitational hosted at Champion Gymnastics Academy.  Our gymnasts and coaches had a blast with all of the Level 5 athletes.  It's fun to make the trip to Stockton, especially when you're supporting WVGS!
Way to go Level 5-2nd PLACE for both sessions.  
We would also like to spotlight Hinako who had the HIGHEST ALL-AROUND score!

Another successful weekend for WVGS!  October 9th was the annual Pink Meet hosted by Bay Aerial gymnastics.  This meet was in its 7th year and it didn't disappoint.  Our teams placed 1st for ALL levels, 3-5.  We are very proud of them.  We are half way through the season and our gymnasts continue to improve each time they take the mat.  Let's finish the 2nd half of the season strong!
