Around the Gym

Hosted by San Mateo gymnastics on February 1-3, West Valley Gymnastics brought their A-game to the Winter Invitational. We competed Xcel Silver-Platinum and Level 6. 
For our Level 6 gymnasts, this was their 1st meet to begin the season and they were excited to take on whatever challenges lie ahead. They finished individually and brought home 3RD IN TEAM!!
We'd also like to congratulate our gymnasts and coaches of XCEL SILVER - 1ST PLACE IN TEAM and our XCEL PLATINUM - 2ND IN TEAM! What a performance! 

1/20-1/21: What a weekend!! As Coach Jessica would say: Get your broom out because that’s a clean sweep!

“Gymnastics in the Wine Country” was a weekend filled with medals & memories. Hosted by Redwood Empire Gymnastics, this meet had over 400+ individual registered gymnasts.

Not only did our individual gymnasts perform at a high level, our Team Placements swept the board with 1st Place for Xcel Silver, Gold & Platinum!!

Way to go WVGS, this is only the beginning of a great season ahead!

WVGS hosted Intrasquad for our Xcel & Optional teams today, December 15th. For several of our Xcel gymnasts, this was their very first meet!  You could tell by the nervous and anxious looks in their eyes they were unsure how the day would go.  But at the end of the meet, their eyes were filled with excitement and anticipation for upcoming meets!
Intrasquad is always a packed day with several moving parts, yet today went very well.  Thank you to all the coaches and families who brought their gymnasts early this morning and stayed well into the evening watching them compete. Your support means the world to us and them!
We are ready to take on the 2018-2019 head-on and we know our gymnasts are READY!

What a great season, Level 3!
When we started this season, we knew our Level 3 athletes would continue to grow and reach their goals. They maintained confidence and determination to become better gymnasts every practice and meet. We are very proud of each of them for competing with grace and style.
The Level 3 State Championships were held on Nov 10-11th hosted by San Mateo Gymnastics with 374 registered gymnasts. WVGS brought home lots of neck bling and took the podium in several areas.
A big thank you to ALL the WVGS families for your unconditional support.

October 20-21st in Union City was the home of the 2018 Stars Challenge meet. WVGS competed in groups both on Saturday and Sunday for Levels 3-5. Once again, our fearless gymnasts competed with style and we are impressed with their improvements.  Thank you to the parents and supporters who came to cheer on our gymnasts.

Santa Cruz, CA. September 16, 2018. A great day for gymnastics!
Our gymnasts attended Begonia by the Beach and once again, these young athletes competed fiercely! They placed as individuals and as a team.  They continue to train hard each week and the results are showing at the meets.
Keep going WVGS, we are very proud of your progress thus far!

Levels 3-5 have officially kicked off their season and they came out of the gates on fire!!! After a warm-up Intrasquad meet held at WVGS, our gymnasts we’re ready to face other teams. The first meet was Judges Cup in Rancho Cordova, Saturday September 8th.  We are extremely proud of our gymnasts. They competed well & didn’t let their nerves or jitters get the best of them. We know this season is off to a great start and we are eager to watch these WVGS athletes develop & mature in the sport of gymnastics all season long!

Jan 11-13, 2019: The WVGS Xcel Team was back in action this weekend at the San Fransico Classic. This event was held in Cow Palace and featured 595 registered gymnasts. This was West Valley's first traveling meet of the season and we could tell our gymnasts were excited and ready! We are looking forward to a successful season ahead.

Nov 17-18. 775 gymnasts. Levels 4-5. Hosted by Central California Gymnastics Institute. State Championships!!

WVGS has once again remained strong, determined and we are impressed. These young gymnasts defy gravity and tackle obstacles every meet. The State Championships not only are a chance to showcase their skills, but a chance to compete with the best of the best in the state!  Several of our Level 4 and 5’s broke their personal bests this weekend.  Many of them brought home multiples medals. We were honored to see WVGS on the winners podium so often!
Congratulations to every gymnast, we are proud of you!
Thank you and congratulations to our coaches; you have taught these athletes to stay hungry and never give up!

Another weekend, another awesome meet! Every time WVGS competes, we are humbled by how well these young athletes represent themselves and WVGS! We owe a huge thank you to our coaches and parents for supporting these young athletes and trusting in WVGS to help them achieve success!

The Disco Tech meet took place on November 3-4th in Rancho Cordova where 943 gymnasts competed Levels 2-5. WVGS competed Levels 3-5 and several individuals medaled Gold, Silver and Bronze!

This season, WVGS competed in a very fun meet called the Teddy Bear Classic hosted by San Mateo Gymnastics on October 13th!

As we continue to get closer to the end of the season, each meet is a huge stepping stone towards personal and team goals. We are constantly amazed by our gymnast’s strength, positivity and progression! Keep it up ladies.
