Around the Gym

The 2016 Compulsory Season has begun!
We kicked off our schedule with Intrasquad held at WVGS.  This was a great way for our gymnasts to become familiar with their routines in front of live judges before we began traveling for the season.

Our 1st meet against other teams was “Judges Cup”. Level 3 placed 2nd, Level 4 took 2nd as well and Level 5 brought home 3rd! We were very proud of both the team and individual accomplishments!!

Next up, “Begonia by the Beach”. This was another 2-day event and our gymnasts shined!! Level 3-3rd, Level 4-1st and Level 5-1st! We continue to press forward into meet season with strong determination and positive gymnasts that work so hard every day!

Here are a few photos from the meets below.  For more photos, check us out on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter!

Keep it up ladies

We were honored and thrilled to host Olympic Gold Medalist Carly Patterson at WVGS on June 23, 2016!  Carly took home Gold in All-Around at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games.  She holds several Silver Olympic medals and a Gold from the World Championships.  Following Carly's presentation at WVGS, she hosted a Q&A and meet & greet session, which our gymnasts...and coaches are still raving about.  She is an inspiration and true role model.  Thank you for sharing your expertise and training tips with all of us Carly!  **Photos coming soon**

The 2016 Hopes Championship took place June 3, 2016 in Hartford, CT.  This was a big event for WVGS Level 10 gymnast Ciena, her coaches and her family!  Ciena proved she had what it takes to compete with some of the top young athletes from across the U.S. at this prestigious meet! The 2016 West Valley Classic was May 15th at West Valley Gymnastics School.  We had 3 sessions of competition and 181 gymnasts competing on Bars, Beam, Vault and Floor.  Ribbons, scores and goodie bags were given to each gymnast following the competition.  These young men and women work very hard leading up to the Classic to learn their routines and perfect their skills for this big event!

We would like to thank all the parents/guardians, family, friends, gymnasts and coaches who made the Classic such a success.  This annual event is a wonderful experience and growing opportunity for our super star athletes and it is because of your support and help this event is possible.

Thank you for participating, we hope to see you next year!
